E34 at the JPM CIMB Preferred Bukit Tinggi Hill Climb Challenge 2010

The Hill Climb is the first event the E34 has ever participated in. Probably because there isn’t any suitable events for the not so nimble black BM. The JPMCIMBPHCC is as prestigious as any car event can get for the masses. The Hill Climb attracts and prefers Exotic, rare classics and modern sports cars. So it was awkward in a way to have the old and humble E34 there rubbing shoulders with Millions of dollars worth of high performance metal.

But I really wanted to stretch its legs a little, especially at a hill climb, which it enjoys. I have also recently rebuilt and firmed up the coilovers and put on new front camber plates, replaced the steering box and can’t think of a better time to enroll than to miss this annual event. Some (2) new pictures of the E34 – Wallpaper Size

Been sometime since i posted updates on the E34. Well progress has been slow recently apart from rebuilding the Hotbits coilovers as well as increasing the damping rates to keep the car planted at speeds. New rear brake pads and some maintenance on the steering box done. I foresee more tightening to be done in the coming weeks, with possibilities of a new steering box, new bushes and links :) enjoy the 2 pics!

E30 M3 DTM Center Lock wheels just refurbished – finally

Some of you may remember from this post, where i acquired a set of 5 E30 DTM single lug / mono lug / center lock wheels last year in April. Today, i finally collected them from the shop. They have been sandblasted and refurbished back to their glory days. I decided to have them finished in racing white.

This is how these babies would look when mounted! I was intending to mount them on my E34 just for fun if I could find the locsking hubs for the wheels. Which can be purchased from sites like these – Racecarsdirect.com M3 E30 Center Lock HUBS BBS. But looking at them now, it’ll be a great addition to my still, WIP E30. Continue reading

Whiteline Anti Roll Bars for the E34 – A Great upgrade!

Found a set of an almost-new Whiteline front 27mm anti roll bar on the bmw-sg forums and I had to have it. Whiteline don’t make them anymore for the E34 since 2008. I also missed my purchase during my trip to Sydney some years ago. I have been looking for a proper adjustable ARB for a long time now after having experienced the ride in a friends’ car.  This piece i found was so new, it was merely test-installed, it was then left in storage for a couple of years.

E34: Some pictures of the recent changes :)

img_6394

With less than satisfactory updates for the past few weeks, here are some better pictures. The recent nose and paint job did wonders in cleaning up the face as well as the body. The AC Schnitzer replica bodykit was never gloss painted until now. Ever since i put it on the last 7,8 years, it stayed flat black to disguise the waves in the finish.  Something i can never tolerate. Continue reading

E34: Windscreen replacement

windscreen3

Back from the painted wide grille mod and bumper repair and paint touch ups, the car was sent to have its long-overdue windscreen replaced. If you drive an old car with an old windscreen, you’d know how pathetic pitted, scratched up, dirty old windscreens can be. I always had the urge to replace but there were always another priority. Now that i’ve fulfilled  most of the checklist, it’s time. Continue reading
