<p>With my recent overhaul on the Cylinder heads due to a head gasket failure, the intake manifolds, head covers were sent for powdercoating and had actually been re-assembled and had the car running. What I didn&#8217;t know was that the con rod bearings were also shot due to coolant being mixed with the lube during the initial head gasket failure.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1205" title="DSC03655" src="http://www.euroasians.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/DSC03655-500x375.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>The engine then had to be pulled out again and disassembled to replaced the bearings. I took the opportunity to send the timing case, and distributor covers for powder coating to match the rest of the engine. <span id="more-1200"></span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1207" title="red timing case" src="http://www.euroasians.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/red-timing-case-500x333.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="333" /></p>
<p>As you can see from the photoshopped picture above, the extra reds on the front now compliments the majestic V12 <img src='http://www.euroasians.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1204" title="DSC03668" src="http://www.euroasians.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/DSC03668-500x375.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>Here are the parts sandblasted and excess casting marks ground off</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1203" title="DSC03694" src="http://www.euroasians.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/DSC03694-500x375.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>Powdercoated in the same Orangey-red. the only Red available</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1202" title="DSC03695" src="http://www.euroasians.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/DSC03695-500x375.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>

<p>After an unfortunate need to do an impromptu top overhaul due to a head gasket failure (more on that on a later post), the engine is now out of the car and being disassembled. The heads will be removed as well as the valve covers, intake manifolds and millions of other fixtures</p>
<p>Recently, i stumbled across powder coating services which i have wanted to try out and the reasearch has paid off. This is the perfect time to bring the parts out for powdercoating. I contacted <a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/car-shops-and-services/354857-rempojo-coating.html" target="_blank">rempojo powder coating</a> today and brought the parts over.<span id="more-1172"></span></p>
<p>The process involves:</p>
<ol>
<li>Sandblasting</li>
<li>Powder Coating</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>Negative Charging the Powder</li>
<li>Positive Charging the metal part</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Oven Baking</li>
</ol>
<p>It was only after i sent the parts over that i had actually start deciding on the colour theme. The picture above is what i had just came up with. It should look pretty good and will match the red interior <img src='http://www.euroasians.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>What&#8217;s Decided:</p>
<ul>
<li>Red Intake Manifolds</li>
<li>Red Throttle body housing</li>
<li>Silver Valve covers beneath intake manifolds</li>
</ul>
<p>Other Wild possiblities</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1181" title="Yellow M70 V12" src="http://www.euroasians.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Yellow-M70-V12-500x332.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="332" /></p>

<p>Picked up a mobile 12v cigarette lighter powered car wash pump from Singapore during Super Import Nights.  With it&#8217;s internal water storage capability of 1.5 litres,  isn&#8217;t much, but you can wash your car even in the dessert powered only by your car. Anyway, there isn&#8217;t a pic of the pump in here. I&#8217;ll post more about it soon. here&#8217;s the pic of the Mini being jet washed, at home.</p>
