A trip up to Genting Highlands with Ryan (Z4 MCoupe) and Shaun (S2000) ended at the outdoor parking area where we chilled out for a bit in the chilly and wet weather. The wet and cold surface calls for some donuts and by the 6th and a half baked donut, the V12 spews smoke. Popped the bonnet and more oil sprinkles up and everywhere being flicked from the radiator fan. The V12 is now caramalized from the oil glaze. As for what went wrong, it was an oil hose failure.
Here’s Meguiar’s CEO Barry Meguiar posing with my humble ride. It’s a real pleasure meeting the legend today especially having been a Meguiar’s die hard fan for years. He is here in Malaysia on a business tour along with his great team of Meguiar’s staff. Special thanks to Meguiar’s Distributor, Hypercoat for the media invitation. It’s a shame the car wasn’t detailed prior to this.
Thanks to Bryn Powell from Australia for this. He flew in a superlight airplane and took the aerial shot. It has been more than 2 years since. Try spotting mine. It’s right beside the red E34, bottom left corner. The donutting M5 is a photoshop.
Here’s a video of an E34 running on Air Suspension from Air Rex. There really isn’t many other options for such application for the E34 so the Air Rex should be it. And by the way it looks from the driving video, it looks like something i would get if i ever wanted to go the Air suspension route.
Here’s some pictures from Sugi, a friend from Indonesia He was here to do some body kit shopping for his E34. He ends up returning home $500 poorer due to a mishap. He also had to cut part of the replica AC Schnitzer kit to be able to fly it back to Surabaya. These pictures were taken at KLCC by his friend Franky. thanks!
I have recently found a set of the classic single-lug DTM M3 wheels. It comes in a set of 5 pieces. They are authentic BBS magnesium race wheels that came off the E30 M3 DTM race car. They are 18X9.5 all round. What’s needed to fit them on is the hard part. Careful measurement and precise engineering of the spacer-cum-adaptor. I am still unsure if i will put it on the E34 for now but I am definately getting the wheels.
Here’s yet another installment of my project 550i V12. Though there were plans to bolt on a manual transmission, it has been temporarily shelved. This is due to the chronic slippage from the auto transmission a few days ago. Though it was already slipping when the car just came out of the shop, it was still drivable. The final straw came when some technician took it for a drive after correcting the wheel alignment. Anyways, here are some pictures of the disassembled 750i transmission. Look at the size of the torque converter..
