M70 V12 Parts being sandblasted – Intake Manifolds and Valve Covers

This is how the parts used to look like taken off the engine. The factory finish on the Valve covers have peeled over time, possibly due to heat and wear. the Intake Manifolds also faced discoloration. Other parts in the picture includes the fuel rail plastic cover which will also be painted.

  1. Hey Tom,
Great job, I’ve been looking at the progress and it’s just awesome! I got my stock E34 and i decided to customize it too. I’d need a little help of yours if possible, if you dont mind. I am from the Czech Republic, so I’m basically on the other side of the world. I got the 525i under the hood, which is enough for me. I would like to re-do the exterior of it + the suspension, exhaust + and little bit of the interior. I dont want to touch the engine now. The problem I am facing is the Ac Schnitzer (aero?) kit? Do you have any idea where I can possibly buy it from? Please inform me on my email filipsochor@yahoo.com Thanks for your help! F.S

  2. hi Filip

thanks, glad you loved the posts, well the replica bodykit is easy to obtain here in Malaysia. I have since found (6monts ago) and installed my authentic kit after having the replicas for many years. i couldn’t afford the exorbitant prices of the originals then.

  3. hi Sugi, should be done by next week i think, the con rod bearings have been replaced head gaskets replaced, engine components powdercoated :)
