My V12 Delay

550i-front

Sorry for the lack of updates for so long. The car was practically at the workshop for the last 6months. But now it’s back alive and kicking with another heart.

Here’s my official update

I’ve decided that the last V12 wasn’t running as well as expected with the custom everything. it was a great experience to have driven it in the state even. but it’s just not right.

I got another 750iAL donor from the yard yet again. Now, in right hand drive. Not that these treasures are abundance over here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but i was just that lucky to have found another.

Vowing that everything will go in, AS-IS, from the 750i so less bullshit and yes, even the auto transmission.

so, out goes the old V12 with the custom manifolds, throttles, transmission adapter, electric fan, wiring etc.

i sent the car in late last month in December and it’s now outta the shop since Saturday.

It’s now running mostly everything 750i from the wiring, to the air con, hydraulic brakes, steering rack, transmission. etc

The only drawback is it’s still on the 520i rear subframe with a 3:73 on it. Good ratio though IMO

I’ll be posting pics soon

What i can say for now is that the 750i must have been truly great. I am really loving the automatic cruiser now.

The brakes take some getting used to though. it doesn’t assure you with a good first bite, but rather, a firm pedal that DO stop, but in a subtle way. it’s hard to explain, but if it was on purpose, i can understand the reason why. Passenger comfort.
